It's just a freakin door part 2

So the door is now 'hung' and handles attached, mighty fine job if I dont say so myself, looks great, now I just have to get the inside door up and it will look more beautifuler :-) then to work on the front door.

New Year's resoultion #1- get organized, hummm...... get all of the tools known to man in one area of the house...... what to do-what to do. Build another garage, maybe a double decker garage!? or just clean up and organize the junk room in the basement. I'm thinking cleaning and organizing the junk room, Jill would never go for the double decker garage, although it would be a first, for sure, in Ohio, I'm pretty sure I couldn't sell that idea to her.

New Years resoulition #2- is actually in connection with # 1 and that is finding the garage, AGAIN.

It's totally amazing. When we first moved into our house we were in shock and awe with the amount of room that we had, now 9 years, two dogs, and a child later we are in shock and awe with the amount of crap that we have collected. Grrrr.

On the subject of weather-- I have learned that weather people tend to over react and I need to listen closely to the weather forcast.

Predicted yesterday- 6-8 inches of snow. What we got about 1/8 inch of ice.

When the person predicting the weather says "all of the models show this" or "depending on the course of this storm" or my personal favorite:
"Someone, some place in the "Miami Valley" will get snow at some point between today and Spring--expect anywhere from a light dusting to a foot of the white fulffy stuff"
I'm thinking- how hard can it be- in the summer months you successfully predict the thunder storms and tornado's not to mention the hurricane's, how hard can it be to predict a winter storm. Sure there was 6-8 inches of snow dumped in Ohio........ in the northern part of Ohio.
Please understand- I'm glad I'm not out shoveling snow right now and I'm thanking God we didn't get the snow that was predicted-- but come on.

It's just a freakin door

So we bought a screen door and an entry door for the basement about a month ago and I'm just getting around to 'hanging' them. Jill suggested hanging the storm door first, ok I thought then lugged the box down to the basement, opened it up and went straight for the directions (yes I read the directions every once in a while) and was amazed..it actually looked pretty darn easy--so I went to work.

A broken drill bit, a couple of battery changes on the cordless drill and hand driving the screws in between battery charges later--- the screen door is now hung-OH I almost forgot.. Jordan helped alot..really- she held the door for me for about a minute as I attached the rail to the door frame :-) I'm glad I one of my boots proping it up.... she didn't notice.

So now comes "the harware". Reading the instructions, I need a drill bit that I cant find, are you kidding me!?! I probably have 3/4 of every tool known to man, the problem is some are here and some are there and the rest are over there. After checking here, there, and over there, grrrr "It's just a freaking door" how hard can this be- after double checking everywhere, the one drill bit that I need is officially missing, double GRRRRR. Got to go to WalMart-I'll let you know

I started a blog here several years ago and ended up forgetting about it (gasp) go figure. All of a sudden my life revolves around the birth of our daughter, who is now 3.

Just so we are straight on this-- there are at least 2 Dino Martino wanna be's out there that I have found- I AM the ORIGINAL Dino Martino.. my Aunt tagged me with this name back in 1970, when I was 4 and has called me this ever since. I am thinking about regestering this nickname.

I'll have to finish this later--right now I'm being pummeled by a 3 year old :-)
